A Trick for Icing in the Winter – Even in Sacramento
It has been FREEZING cold here in happy sunny Sacramento. Yes, we know we are big babies when it comes to what we constitute as freezing! When it’s cold people don’t like to ice. We don’t blame them. It’s no fun to ice when you are already cold.
Here is a tip. When you have to ice in the winter, start by putting a heating pad or electric blanket on your tummy. Get nice and warm before you ice. Once you are roasty toasty, the ice will feel good instead of being shockingly cold.
Another tip is to get a good orthopedic ice pack. We have these in the clinic so stop by if you need one! They are not as cold as a bag of frozen peas or ice cubes which makes icing significantly easier.
Icing in the winter is still very important if you have an injury or area that is inflamed. Make sure to ice as regularly as possible and use this trick if you are cold. If you have any questions about how or when you should be icing give us a call!
