Let’s talk about feet! We keep hearing that people don’t think of massage therapy to address foot problems. At Body Fix Therapies in Sacramento, we treat foot pain all the time. Now you are probably wondering what type of food problems we can handle.
Anything you would go to a podiatrist for can also be addressed with orthopedic massage therapy. We can help with:
- Hi Arches
- Low Arches
- Plantar Fasciitis – We see this ALL the time!
- Hammer Toes
What Can’t Orthopedic Massage Therapy Fix?
We can’t get rid of bunions. These are built up bone callus, and we can’t massage away a bone callus. However, we can address what caused the bunion in the first place. So, if you have foot pain and have been to a podiatrist without it being resolved, or if you have uncomfortable orthotics or think you need orthotics or are experiencing any other kind of foot discomfort, we want you to give us a call.
Remember, we offer orthopedic massage. Orthopedic massage corrects a problem and helps stop chronic pain. We work directly with podiatrists and chiropractors (they can help with foot pain too, there are a lot of bones and tiny joints in your feet!) to help put a plan together to treat your foot pain.
Plantar fasciitis, the most common foot problem we see in our patients, is merely a symptom. It is inflammation in the tissue on the bottom of your foot. Something is causing it, often badly fitting shoes or an old injury that has become part of your gait. We can help you discover what is causing your plantar fasciitis so you can eliminate or reduce the source of your pain.
It Might Not Start In Your Feet
A lot of people don’t realize they have foot problems until they are experiencing pain in their lower back. When people come in for lower back pain, we often check their feet. If we don’t correct your feet problems, we can’t make your lower back pain go away. The same thing can occur in the knees, depending on how your body compensates for the feet problems you are experiencing.
Your feet are workhorses. They often don’t complain until things are drastically wrong. Many people love a wellness massage that includes their feet, but few people understand the benefits that corrective orthopedic massage can provide.
